Barcelona, Spain

What's over here? And a couple of streets over there? Wherever you are in Barcelona, there's always something to see nearby around the neighbourhood or district: jewels of home-grown Catalan architecture, modernisme, and contemporary architecture, markets that are a treat for the senses, treasures of the ancient Roman and medieval city, parks where you can unwind … And the best thing of all is, you don't have to be a great explorer to find and discover all of Barcelona’s neighbourhoods.

Museums

Art, culture, science and entertainment come together in Barcelona's museums: Egyptian mummies and contemporary works of art, the city's Roman origins and one of Europe's biggest sports clubs…

Exhibition centres

A look at the contemporary world through photographs, interactive and educational exhibitions, conceptual art… Barcelona's vibrant art scene is reflected in the exhibition centres and galleries around Barcelona.

Art galleries

Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia are home to many prestigious art galleries. The ones listed below are part of the Catalan Association of Art Galleries and take a journey through the world of the art and artists across the centuries.

Everybody loves leisure and having fun. And Barcelona offers fun for everyone: kids and adults, thrill seekers, and people in search of peace and quiet. You can walk among sharks, stroke dolphins, take a head-spinning ride on a roller coaster or enjoy the magnificent views of Barcelona and peaceful atmosphere of the parks. Although the best thing is to try and fit them all in.

Barcelona never sleeps. The city has set the benchmark for the international electronic music scene and dances to the sounds of the world's top DJs. Barcelona's nightlife is divided into areas which bring together similar styles and characteristics. It's also the perfect place for lovers of jazz, rock, Latin rhythms and pop.

Can you picture yourself enjoying the sunshine on the shores of the Mediterranean on a peaceful winter's day and skiing at an altitude of more than 2,000 metres the next? These are both possible in Barcelona. The Catalan Pyrenees are a true mountain paradise for trekkers and climbers and a short distance away from Barcelona. You can get there by car in just two hours as well as by train or helicopter.

The Catalan Pyrenees offer a whole host of activities for all seasons which everyone can enjoy. The incomparable natural setting – including a national park and five natural parks – offers a wide range of cultural attractions too: beautiful Romanesque architecture that has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status, spas, traditional gastronomy reinterpreted by young chefs...

Excellent transport links from Barcelona mean you can visit the Catalan Pyrenees on a day trip.
