Dive in and discover the wonderful underwater world just off the shores of Tenerife. In crystal clear water you will see the abundant marine life and amazing volcanic rock formations surrounding the island. With a maximum student to instructor ratio of 2:1 will be in very safe hands as you experience your first breaths underwater.
The first dive is to a maximum depth of 6 metres and, subject to the successful completion of a few elementary skills, subsequent dives can be to a depth of 12 metres. Discover Scuba from the Shore This dive is from Playa de las Vistas in Los Cristianos. With a gradual sandy sloping entry, you can take your first breaths while still standing and practice a few skills such as equalisation techniques and inflating and deflating the jacket. When you are comfortable the instructor will deflate your jacket to get you under the water and take you for a tour of the area, pointing out different fish and various marine creatures. You will in addition practice regulator clearing, regulator recovery and mask clearing. Your maximum depth will be 6 metres; the dive time will be around 45 minutes and the whole experience will take about 2 hours. Discover Scuba from the boat If you have not previously completed a Discover Scuba dive from the shore, you will start with an introductory dive in a pool where you will practice some skills as mentioned above.
This is followed by a dive from one of our boats to a maximum depth of 12 metres. We have several sites that are interesting at this depth and the choice of site will depend on conditions on the day, but could be to a shipwreck or one of our scenic routes with abundant marine life and dramatic volcanic rock formations.
